Wheel wrench - a simple and effective tool for quick wheel changes

Looking for a simple tool to maintain your four-wheeled friend? Mounting and dismounting tyres, tightening nuts in hard-to-reach places or repairing items in tight spaces - the wheel wrench does it all. Which type to choose for your job? What parameters and features to look for when choosing one?

The design and use of the wrench divides the tool into several common types

Cross wrench

- The commonly available type of wrench with two metal X-shaped arms can be obtained in a simple design with the possibility of changing the extensions. Its larger size makes it less portable in the boot of the vehicle, and it can be more easily damaged or even broken in welds when the bolt is tightened forcefully.

Pipe wrench

- is equipped with a handle on the lower side and a head in different sizes in the upper curved part. Some types of this wheel wrench have a socket on both sides instead of a handle specifically for a particular type of bolt or nut. It is usually cheaper than a cross wrench, has a higher weight and a larger size. It is therefore less practical for storing in the boot of a vehicle.

Telescopic wrench

- very practical and the most popular type of key among users. It uses a solid, ergonomically shaped handle with a telescopic bar to tighten or loosen bolts and nuts. This can be extended or retracted into the handle as required. The variable length makes it very portable and ideal for carrying.

The design and material of the telescopic wrench really matters

A large number of wrenches can be purchased in online shops and stores. However, its reliability depends on the material from which it is made. The cheaper variants of the wrench are usually made of ordinary steel. Chrome vanadium or stainless steel is used to make higher quality and stronger wrenches. These tools are thus more resistant to damage and corrosion.
